Determination of genetic diversity in european cranberrybush (Viburnum opulus L.) genotypes based on morphological, phytochemical and ISSR markers

Turkey has a high diversity of native and commercially grown plants. European cranberrybush, fruit species in the country, is interest because its health benefits. This study aimed to determine genetic uisng morphological, molecular, phytochemical markers twenty-four different genotypes cranberrybush from Kayseri province, which an important region production plant Turkey. The results show wide variations among morphological parameters. G13 genotype was prominent compared other leaf length (130.69 mm), width (135.76 mm) (10.01 mm). weights varied between 0.16 g 0.80 g. In ISSR marker analysis, out 73 scoreable bands obtained 11 primer sets, 44 were polymorphic. average polymorphism rate 60.27%, similarity index 0.77 0.95. Total flavonoid, phenolic anthocyanin content ranged 106.28 mg CAE/100 318.87 g, 451.23 GAE/100 679.57 16.48 cyn-3-gluc /100 21.36 respectively. this can be useful breeders interested developing conserving provide baseline for new studies on cranberry.
